The 22-year-old bank robber was not armed and surrendered without a struggle, L. V. Boardman, special agent in charge ofthe Kansas City FBI office, announced. Boardman said that Embry had been working at the filling station about two months. A tip received by City Detectives James Messick and Clyde Moore led to the arrest. Embry, a highwayman since he was 15, had a reputation for liking the company of women. Embry was wanted for his part in the $8943 robbery of the Monroe National Bank, Columbia, Ill., Feb. 6. Three others were arrested, confessed and given long jail terms. Embry was taken to the FBI field office and later to the county prison. He was to be arraigned tomorrow. Embry lasted only 12 days on the list of most wanted men. He had been added to the list July 23 in place of another desperado also captured in short order.
